Educational Qualification for NLC Recruitment 2025:
Mining Sirdar (Selection Grade-I):
- Degree/Diploma in any subject other than Mining Engineering and Mining Sirdar Certificate of DGMS and Valid Ist Aid Certificate. OR
- Diploma in Mining with Overman Competency Certificate issued by DGMS and Valid Ist Aid Certificate.
Junior Overman (Trainee):
- Diploma/Engineering in Mining or other equivalent educational qualification approved in that behalf by the Central Govt. and
- Valid Overman’s Certificate of Competency from DGMS under CMR 2017 or any certificate in Mining which entitles to work as an Overman as per Coal Mines Regulation 2017 & Valid Ist Aid Certificate.

Age Relaxation:
- Age Relaxation for OBC/STSC/Ex-SM Category applicants will be as per Govt. of India guidelines and the same will be extended only if valid ST/ OBC / SC Discharge Certificates are uploaded at the time of registration of application form.
- Applicants belonging to OBC/SC/ST categories applying against UR vacancy shall be considered under general standard of merit and no relaxation in age limit will be extend.
- Age Relaxation for Ex-SM category applicants is as per extant Government of India guidelines.
Selection Process:
- Selection will be based on a Exam for 100 Numbers.
- The Exam Paper will consist of 2 parts; Part I with 30 questions and Part-II with 70 Questions on subject knowledge totally 100 objective type questions with multiple choice answers.
- Exam Paper for Written Test will have Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) carrying equal mark each, with no negative marks for incorrect answer.
- The duration of the Written Exam will be 2 Hours. The Exam Paper will be in Only English Language.
- Minimum qualifying numbers in the Written Exam will be 50 percentage in respect of General and EWS Category candidates and 40 percentage in respect OBC/ST/SC Category candidates, against the reserved vacancies.
